A continuation of our newest feature, this month we bring you Angelique Black as our gamer profile.
By helping show a variety of gamers from around the world we hope to help dispel some of the more negative associations surrounding the term 'gamer'. The stereotype of the gamer is no longer all that realistic. With gamers of every age, race, sex and preference, it's time to lay to rest the idea that all gamers are young, white, male and only interested in violent video games. (not that there's anything wrong with any of those attributes, for that matter).

What makes you a gamer? / What is a 'gamer' these days?:
A gamer would be someone who enjoys playing video games on a regular basis. Someone who makes time in their schedule for gaming, just like they would for any other favorite hobby. Then you have the hardcore gamers; those will game almost everyday and will have a strong interest for the industry.
Favorite games, genres, or specific aspects of game design:
My favorite genres are RPG, RTS and Tactics, but I also like FPS, Action Platformers, Racing and Fighting. To name a few titles: Twisted Metal Black:Online (PS2) Age of Mythology (PC), Disgaea: Hour of Darkness (PS2), Fire Emblem (GBA), Final Fantasy VII (PS)& X (PS2), Tenchu 2 (PS) & 3 (PS2), Star Trek Armada (PC) and more.. The main things I look for in a game are the physics and character control; the gaming experience is so much more satisfying when you can be one with your main caracter and feel in total control of it's movements.
One thing you'd change about one game, genre or the industry as a whole if you could:
I'd love to see the day when every project (game) in any gaming company is allowed enough time and budget for the staff to be able to produce to the top of their abilities. It happens all the time; everyone works around the clock because the deadline is too close, and the overtime isn't paid. That's a shame.. Sure, it would cost more to produce the games at first, but think of the improvements that would be made possible, and how well the public would react if the games they loved became 10 times better! It would pay back eventually...
Favorite moment in gaming history as a whole, or in your personal gaming history:
Learning that my favorite game, Twisted Metal Black, was going Online, and then bringing the game to a whole new level with real competition. After 4 years, I still can't get enough of it.
Predictions for the future of gaming:
I think that the next generation consoles are showing a lot of potential, and I believe there will only be more and more interaction between the gamer and his/her console in the future. Right now, both Sony's PS3 and Nintendo's Wii will have movement sensitive controlers, and hopefully we will be able to see more of that in the decades to come.
Rant / Rave Space:
I've rambled enough, I think.
